Nate Powell

Postdoctoral Associate

Nate got his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota with David Redish in 2015, and after 4 short years at the University of British Columbia working with Jeramy Seamans he’s happy to be back in Minnesota.  Nate is interested in how the brain functions as a computational unit and what exactly it is that the Prefrontal Cortex does anyway.  His past research has involved electrophysiology in awake behaving rodents, psychometric modeling in humans, and RF pulse design for MRI, and he is pleased to be adding optical imaging of calcium activity to the list.  When not in lab, Nate enjoys building bicycles and riding them long distances while listening to podcasts.
